Hurricane Harvey - God is There

Image
My prayers go out to those who have suffered from the storm that has struck Texas, US area. For those who do have access to my blog and my avid readers, please remember that God is with us all during the good times and also the bad times. He sees our plights. In times of devastation He is not hiding behind the mask of an uncaring God, and responds to everyone suffering and in need of His help, who ask. He is holding the hands of those who love Him and are His own, including those now in pain in Texas. I have a personal message for those in Texas. God knows the pain that you are experiences and His gentle love and caring arms are reaching out to you to comfort you. All you have to do is receive it. He sees your plight, and the horrific period now facing you; He is not hiding behind the mask of an uncaring, vengeful God regardless of what others report against Him. Although it might not feel like it, and others report He is, He is not responsible for this awful weather. He loves you, wan

Pardoned of Offenses

Image
Pardoned of Offenses I want to talk about a time when I disappointed myself. Or course God loved me then, and He still loves me. Of course, I wished to be perfect but realized I could never be. For those who feel that they are perfect Christians, and expect those who confess Jesus as their Lord to be perfect, please understand that it is not the case. It is only through the grace and guidance of the beautiful Holy Spirit that we can live quiet lives while we exist in our flesh. When we don’t allow His guidance, we can do horrible things to each other. So don’t blame God. James 3:8-9 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Although I am not perfect, God’s love is everlasting, and when I realize my mistakes, I can comfortably place myself back into his loving arms not allowing condemnation to overwhelm me. Rom 8:1 There is therefore now n

The Tattered Dress

The Purchase The eerie sound of her high heels tapping against the tile flooring causes a shiver to run through Megan’s body as she casually strolls down the brightly lit corridor of the shopping center. Missing the flurry of noise and commotion from the other shoppers, Megan wonders if the building has closed around her; however, since it is only two o’clock pm and the mall does not close until nine tonight, she knows it is open and ignores the unfamiliar feeling of inhospitality arising from the building’s emptiness. Megan continues perusing the brightly lit display windows. Lovely tops made of lace, chenille, and other materials she doesn’t recognize, draws her attention and the brightly lit merchandise entices her to stop in and try on the gorgeous garments.   Lou Vuitton has a sale on its handbags; Victoria secret a sale on its spicy undies; and one store displaying an anorexic model, wearing undersized shorts on her basketball size bum, publicizes a half-off sale on

The Unexpected

Image
Today it’s raining, which seems almost a downer because it is summer and so many of us love the dryness and warmth of the summer months. It is the time of the year when we purposely seek out waters, such as beaches, lakes, and streams allowing us to play in and cool ourselves off from the scorching hot days. No one wants rain in the summer because it keeps us trapped inside when there is so much outside to do. Although we love the heat of the summer days, those of us in BC face some horrific consequences from the intense heat. BC, having lots of forest areas, suffers from severe dryness, and once manicured lovely grassy areas and trees turn brown; drying out and dying because of the rapid evaporation of the moisture from the intense heat beaming down. Due to this, fires are terrorizing the area. Several burning areas have destroyed many homes, and those fortunate enough to not have had their homes burnt down are facing evacuations because of the threat of danger. This uncert

Loved beyond measure

Loved beyond measure John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Generally, during the Christmas season, this verse seems to play a dominant role in our lives as these simple words parade themselves across cards, billboards, and Christmas sermons. This is the time of the year that some of us humans celebrate the birth of Jesus and contemplate the gift of God in bringing all men, which believe on him, back into his loving arms. But I am of the belief that God’s love is continuous year round, and is not limited to a particular time of the year. A couple of days ago I watched a young mother standing around at the bus station, and in her arms, she lovingly cuddled a tiny baby. The small bundle of beauty announcing another generation will continue within her family was the light in the mother’s eyes I noticed. The sight truly brought joy to my heart as I stood observing her gent
